I've got 205 55R 16s ...yokohama's... they suck... If I'm willing to pay.. which brand is the best for a soft, smooth, road hugging ride?
Kumho?
Goodyear?

Rep Power: 296 That would all depend on what kind of ride you are aiming for.
There's racing tires that'll last you a few thousands miles to touring tires that'll reach past 70k miles.
If you want a comfortable, long lasting tire that can handle the occasional abuse, I'd recommend some Falken ZE-512s, BF Goodrich Traction T/As, or Pirelli P-Zero Neros.

Rep Power: 326 Prepare for a really long response if Zzyzx gets in here.
Id say that G-Force TDA K/W are pretty good. Michelin Pilot Sports are really nice as well.

Firetstone FR690. Just kidding, Michelin makes a real good tire, ask any tire shop and they will tell you. I Worked at Tire Kingdom years ago and NO ONE ever complained about Michelins except the price, Toyo Proxes are a very good tire too.

Rep Power: 0 i hate traction t/a, they suck, i have them right now, and they grip worth crap
kumho mx have super short life, and not that fantastic of a traction
falkens azenis was decent
if cost was no matter to me for tires, i would get good year eagle gs-d3, they are like 200 each for me

Rep Power: 400 Word has it the Michelin Pilot Sport SP2 is the new king of grip.
But anything from Bridgestone or Michelin would be the choice of tires without a spending limit.

Rep Power: 0 I have yokohama mohawk predators 205/40/17 and they grip nicely. GL with the soft smooth road hugging ride.
The mohawks are firm, good amount of road noise and grip real nice.
