Question Friend Rim size

Hey well my friends is going to get rims. He is looking at 17" but I'm telling him that they will look too small being only 2" larger than the hubs he's got. I said that he should go with the 18" cuz there not to small but not too big. And then he's only getting about a 1.4" drop so they will look even smaller. Shouldn't he go with 18's????? Anyone have pictures of gunmetal 18's on a civic?

You can go with 18's. 18's are not too big. it also depends on the tire size he's going to get. I hope your friend is going for mostly show, if your suggesting 18's.

^not to your butt dyno, but when your racing a clock... a set of 17's Vs a set of 15's, same tire compound, same car... thats worth a second or two (autocross/open track) and it only gets worse as you lower the torqe on the car. Theres a serious difference in the performance of my car when I have my street 17's Vs my race 15's.

for looks, DEFINITELY go w/ 18s.... i got 17s and now i WISH i had bought 18s *sigh* yeah and yeah it'll look a lot nicer since he's only dropping it 1.4".... jus thave a look on the official suspension drop pics inside the suspension forum. There, you can see what certain size rims/tire combos look like w/ their corresponding drops.
