Do a little research first. Go to www.tirerack.com and take their little quiz to see what your preferences and expectations are. Look around here for recommendations of good tires. I know a lot of people like the Falken tires. I went with Michelin Pilot XGT H4 because I've never had problems with Michelins, but they are a bit expensive. I'll probably go back to the Falkens when these wear out to give them a try.

Don't ever go to purchase something for your car without spending a little time researching, or you'll end up with overpriced poor quality stuff. There are different types of tires for different needs (snow, performance, touring, etc.). Reply with what you want your tires to do and I'm sure you will get several suggestions for tires to purchase. Then shop around and find the best deal.

Also, expect about $10/tire for mounting/balancing and $1/tire for disposal. Don't forget locking lug nuts for your new rims either (about $25). And don't forget road hazard on the tires, if offered, can be like $25/tire (depending on tire cost and dealer) but worth it if you get a flat.

If you purchase tires from my shop, we price it this way...

12.50 Balancing
3.50 Stem
3.00 Disposal
1.75 CA state tire tax
10.00 Road Hazard (Some tires are more, it is a nationwide plan)
The Road Hazard policy we offer will also put mileage warranty on tires that the manufacturer may not put one on, based on the treadwear rating.

If you bring us tires, we charge this way...
10.00 MT/DISMT
12.50 Balancing
3.50 Stem
3.00 Disposal
No tire tax, but we will sell you road hazard on the tires, even if you do not purchase them from us.

Oh yeah, I forgot I was misquoted a cost of $10/tire for mounting and balancing and they upheld the quote. I also forgot about the stems...
