All-season tires for my 17s

im tired of switching my wheels back and forth! i have yokohama performance tires on the 17s right now and i talked to a guy at dicount tire (thats where i got my wheel + tire package from) and the dude said he can trade my yokohamas with all-season tires!

is the trade-in a good idea - do they usually give a good deal? if so, what all-season tires would you recommend for my 17s

I've had good sucess with Continental ContiExtremeContacts in 215/45-17... DRY:The tire definitly talks to you before it lets go, and its not a very abrupt change from grip to slip, so you can catch it pretty easily. Wet: Havent had any hydroplaning, and grip is decent. They handled snow pretty well too...

Just swap the rims off and put on your stockers. It saves hassle and damage to your rims.

I ran some Sumitomo HTR+ in 215/45-17 all last winter, throught multiple snows and had no problems. I have my stock steel wheels on this winter and can tell you that the Sumitomos were certainly better than these crappy OEM tires. They used to be rated pretty high at Tirerack but I have not looked in a while.

It does not matter what kind of tires you have, it is still necessary to rotate your tires every 5k - 10k miles to prevent uneven wear. A dedicated summer compound may require more frequent rotation because it usually wears faster. You trade handling for convenience.
