Lee tires?
Lee tires?
Have you folks heard of Lee brand tires? I hadn't encountered them before but a mechanic I know recommended one of their all-season models for the upcoming winter months as a "more aggressive" tread. A buddy of mine got them on his Stratus and he tells me that they grip well in the rain, but we have yet to see how they do in the snow.
They're not exactly "bargain basement" at $80-90 per tire, but they're not ridiculously expensive, either. Do these guys have a reputation?

I've heard of them at the sleezeball tire places around here. If you're gonna drop that kinda money on tires, get a major brand though.

UTQG is brand dependant though
Also what kind of warranty do they provide and under what conditions ?

I have used no-name tires in the past, with no problems. Both of them wore evenly, and lasted quite a while. One brand was Dayton, related to Bridgestone and Firestone. The other was Akuret, by Ohtsu, now owned by Sumitomo.
I was too lazy to actually do any more research. My buddy got the same Lee tires and drove them without any problems, so I went ahead and got them.
I drove home today through the second snow of the season and they are working great. I guess if I slide off the road and die you'll all know not to buy Lee tires. Except that I won't be able to warn you because I'll be dead.
