I was just wondering if anyone in here has any problems with the side diameter being 35 instead of 40. I am feeling unsafe about it and was thinking of getting 215/40/18 instead to be safe because 35 seems to be a little risk taking? What are ya'll recommendation and opinion? Thanks.

I've ran 215/35/19 on my RSX, and have run 215/35/18 on my Civic...I'm fine with a 35 series tire but thats because I have yet to run into any issues with them (crossing fingers)

215/40/18 is a little bit better comfort wise. 215/35/18 is good to though.

Thanks for the advice guys. But don't you think that these thins tires would have some kind of disadvantages other than the comfort ride? I mean think about it if you end up running into the pot hole. I'm so freaked about the tires blowing out when taking hard turns because I feel as though the tires cannot take a certain amount of G's being pulled into it.

35 series tire makes your rims look bigger.. but you feel every pebble in the road..

40 series tire makes your rims look normal..you don't feel every pebble.. but you still feel a little..

I got 40 series, for piece of mind.

I believe it really depends on where you live/ how you drive...I live in the midwest and when it snows it opens up big potholes in the road (everywhere) and MODOT (Missouri Dept. of Transportation) sucks a big fat one! With all of that said, I have yet to bend a rim on the 8-9 sets of wheels/tires I've had....maybe Im lucky! YAH!

215/35/18 should be good. just drive carefully as you would with any other low profile tire to be extra safe

When i had my 215.35.18 i hated them, cause i had to be on a constant alert for potholes and thats a Fu*kang burden. Stick with 40 series. Why? better to be safe than sorry.

the key is to buy GOOD quality rims not some dime store copy that bends on every pothole. Ive had my 215/35/18's for 2 years? only problem i've had is i didnt notice one tire was flat cause the side wall is so small and ruined the one tire from driving it too long on to little air pressure. and 35 - 40 dont meant the 40's will ride better either it will depend on what brand of 40 tire your running. Some will have a softer side wall and some wont. so you may not gain anything.

Thanks for all of your advices you guys. I think I should switch to the 40 series just to be safe. I had 205/40/17 on my last car and it pretty much sucked because they were Kumho's causing the side wall to blow off a lot. I guess is because I didn't have a camber kit to correct the problem. Once again, thanks for all of your info.
