Rim Sizes
You could go big before you will run into any rubing probs. ect. What you need to think about is how the roads are in the area were you drive alot. I have 17" and that is about as big as I would go some pot holes feel like they are going to shatter your teeth, but I also don't have stock suspension. Go with 16" or 17" get a good rim to don't buy crap. Rota makes a great inexpensive rim.

I think the largest you can without rubbing on a stock suspension is 19".... but it's also about how wide a tire size you want. I think for that 225 is the limit. Do you live an area with rough roads? Like bgoetz said... you'll feel them rough roads. I have 50 series tires and it's definately rougher than stock already. You can buy cheap rims IF you dont mind them bending....
i live in westen pa and the roads are horiable just ab ever where. I was thinking ab 17 i was looking on http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/exel/exel.htm

i have 17's on a lowered (1.4") coupe, and the 215/45/17's rub if i corner too hard. make sure to measure your ****. i'm trying 205/40/17's next, seems to be a popular size here.
