Battle of the...Tires

Currently my EX has Speed Star Racing Integral GT1 17x8 rims at all corners with Bridgestone Potenza RE71 245/40 ZR17 tires mounted on them. I have been very satisfied with them in dry and wet conditions, but it is time for new ones.

My question: stick with the Potenzas or move to BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW?

Price is not an issue. The fact that the g-Force series holds the world record for radials in both import and domestic influences me to make the change. My family would love to see me with the Goodrich's too. I have used the g-Force drag radials for some time now and I have nothing but for them. Then again, the Potenzas have proven their worth to me and I'm tempted not to try to fix something that isn't broken.

So...let's duke it out...

The KDW has signifigantly less Dry traction then the KD.... The KDW is better in the rain though (Hence the W, wich stands for WET).

as far as other options, I know of 2 tires that, as far a dry traction, will beat the snot outta both the Potenza and the g-Force..

The Falken Azenis RS and the Kumho MX.

The falkens come in 225/45ZR17 and 245/45ZR17
the MX come in:
205/40-17
215/40-17
215/45-17
225/45-17
235/45-17
245/40-17
245/45-17
ect ect ect....

Between the two, the Falken has slightly more overall grip and a stiffer sidewall (Probably the stiffest of any street tire) But, the MX handles heat better. if you arnt running in to heat issues with the tires the Azenis is the way to go, if you are, then the MX is the better choice.

If you want to get stickier then those, you'll have to go to R compound tires, such as the Kumho ECSTA V700 and Victoracer...

Roy is an unknown quantity at this point
the kdw version 2 has a better overall grip than the kdw. I wrote an article for a local magazine comparing tires. I concluded with the kdw2 and the toyo t1s, with the toyo taking the win because of price.
