Rep Power: 0 Which tires are better?
I want to replace my stock firestones on my 03 EX (si rims) and I'm trying to figure out which tires to go with. I'm looking at Potenza's or Yokohama Avid's, though I'm open to suggestions.
I'm not autocrossing or anything...but I like to drive "spiritedly" so grip is important, how long the tires last isn't. I don't really care about price, just the best grip (I do need to be able to drive in the rain also). I also don't want the tires throwing off my speedometer, so it has to stay within spec. What do you guys recomend?

Potenza's. My dad works at bridgestone and he has worked at numerous tires plants and he said the potenzas will give you the best grip out of any tire but be careful which one u pick cause the more expensive ones might give the best grip but wont last as long.

Rep Power: 258 I like my Potenza RE950 more than my g/f's Avid H4. The avids have better dry grip but the potenzas have stiffer sidewalls and are more predictable. I would go with a 195/60/15 over the stock 185/65/15 BTW. The ziex 512s are a great bargain, but they are still all seasons like the above and have soft sidewalls. If you want more grip you have to go to a 205 series summer tire.

Rep Power: 357 All of the Avids are All season Tires, and both the H4S/V4S have a tread wear of 500.... Rocks. :| the Falken 512 should have better dry grip...
The Potenza Line starts at High Performanc All seasons and ends with Max Performance Summer tires.... So Given the choice on which will grip better, the RE050 or the S-02 or S03 all should be substantually better then any of the avids...

Rep Power: 262 Since you said you want the best grip and you don't care about price. I say toyo t1-s.
Right now I have potenza re 92's. They ok, but I feel it slip a bit when you turn hard.

Rep Power: 0 toyo t1-s are great. How much mileage are you expecting out of these tires you want to get?
T1-s only have a treadwear of 280.
66 reviews on these tires

Rep Power: 0 Look into these BFGoodrich Traction T/A H (High Performance All-Season). There ranked #1 in there class, Have a 60k mile warranty, have stiffer sidewalls then then falken 512's (off reviews from searching google), and cost $57.
