T rating affect handling?

Costco wouldn't put T rated (or anything lower than H) on my car becuase its a lower rating than stock. The dude said its not because of speed but it has something to do with the suspensions. Anyone else had this problem or notice any difference in handling with T rated tires?

Dude also said it's not a big deal and that they would put the tires on the wheels but I'd have to put the wheels on the car myself. The tires I'm talking about are 205/55/16 michelin hydroedge.

Yeah, they won't do it. A great place to learn more about speed ratings is http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...eral/speed.jsp

if you read the Tire rack page that SlammedBlueEM2 posted you'd learn that the Speed rating on the tire (the letter) has nothing at all to do with the Traction or handling of the tire. It only deals with what speed the tire can safly be run with out it tearing its self appart.

T is rated to 118 MPH. H is rated to 130, your car can go faster then 118, So they probably didnt want to put a tire on a car that can exceed its speed rateing.

lol, I work at Costco Brampton, Ontario Canada. We do the same thing. It's a little bit of "cover your ***" on our part. If your car came with an H porformance grade, we have to match or better it. Just so if some smart guy took his brand new T rated tires on his SIR out for a spin at 150mph and they failed we don't get a crazy law suit. H rated tires GENERALLY handle better than T reated, but for a daily driver not a big deal. H is the beginning of the performance scale.

not true at all. same exact car on the track, one with T tires vs one with a v,z,w or y rated tire and the second car will perform much better
