everything new should go for about 600-700. now used, depends on who you buy it from. so it can go from 200-500.

looking at hondaautomotiveparts.com, new parts are more like 1000+

im calculating ~900 without cables and disks and pads.

gotta get the knuckle, bearing, caliper, and each of those is 100+ a side.

plus the cables, splash shield, pads, rotors, etc.

i think people tend to forget the bearing, which is already pressed on if its off a car, but if you buy new, gotta get a bearing with the knuckle $$$

the bearing (with studs) is listed under the disc section, not the rear trailing arm section where the knuckle is.

PunkingCivic - When I step on the brakes, they feel wonderful. I tried stopping at 40mph and stops on a dime(well not on a dime, but they feel very different from drums).

allmotor - Yeah those are rota C8's. I'm planning to sell them in the future to get Velox.

Thanks everybody for the replies. I appreciate it. Yeah, it still or kinda does look like a 4X4 even though it's lowered. I'm waiting for the slotted rotors for the rear. But my project is far from finished. I have a long way to go. Will be posting new pictures soon. Peace!

I have found them around junkyards and such for 450-500. I know someone that's found a set for himself for less, though. 450-500 for a set of rear brakes is still kinda expensive.

Green Civic - Thank you!

CivicsRdBest - Thanks, they do very well with ABS. Especially for sudden stops.

yeah, but as I said, what about the bearings? it does not appear that new knuckles include the bearings. am I mistaken?

ok I see the bearing comes with the knuckle, if you buy used. but looking at the pics at hondaautomotiveparts, the knuckle doesn't have the bearing in the picture. I know that could be wrong, but I highly doubt a knuckle costs $144 and includes a $116 bearing/hub.

the knuckle is #1/2 in this picture:

and the bearing/hub is #4 in this picture:

those two combined (#1/2 from first pic and #4 from second pic) with the dust shields (#28/29 second pic) are what is pictured on page 1 as the "knuckle".

The hub/bearing is what the rotor bolts to, and also has the wheel studs pressed into it (comes with hub). It rotates on the knuckle shaft.

that's how I am seeing it, anyway.

i see what your talking about. from what honda told me, when i was compiling my list was that the spindle comes with the knuckle. but then again it is honda. hahahaha! im going to call again to doubble check, but if that's the case then used, would be the best way to go. well atleast for the knuckle/spindle anyway.

well if they said the spindle comes with the knuckle, that is correct, the spindle is just the shaft (sans bearings) coming out of the knuckle.

whatever the case is, let us know what you find out
