a member has told me that the rims i just got are heavy and might bring down my cars power, the rim weighs 19 lbs and the tire is like 21 lbs, i really dont think it will be a difference in power just by adding 17'' rims and tires, just a thought. does anyone know if it will decrease the power????

yes it will. Its a matter of physics. the more mass the engine has to try to get to start spining the slower that acceleration will be. same holds true to your breaks.... the heavier the wheels the harder the brakes have to work to get them to stop spining.
also....... Where the weight is on the wheel matters a lot too... its a matter of Inertia. the farther the weight is form the center of rotation the more force it will take to get that weight to spin. SO even if your 17s weight 15LBS and your stock 15s weighed 18 lbs the 17's will be harder to get to spin because the weight is farther from the center of rotation.....
easy rule for Racing/performance. for maximum performance Run the smallest widest wheel you can. for us thats a 15X7 (technically we can run 14s but its hard to find a wide 14" wheel and there aren't any good street tires in 14s for racing....)

^^^ speaks truth , but sigh you big wheel hater you !

ya, well Light 18s are better then heavy 18s but not as good as a nice wide 15.....

wow I learn something new today, thanks for the info
