16in rims
16in rims
anybody have any opinion's on what 16in rims would look nice on a 2001 black civic lx? i want to put some all year round tires on them too so this way i don't have to wry when it snows.....also does all year round tires help a little from denting the rims? or should i get 17s w/ all year roud tires? would that look right?
First of all, "all-year around" tires are called "all-season".
It's not the type of tire that prevents a rim from being bent, it's the tire size. You'd run into the problem with any kind of tire if the profile is too low. The larger the wheel, the closer it is to the wheel, and the easier it is for it to be bent by a pothole or from uneven pavement. 17s would have a better chance of bending than 16 because you'd have more tire on the wheel. On the other hand, in some cases it might depend upon the quality of the wheel or what it's made of. For instance, an OEM 99-00 Si wheel is made of some REALLY strong metal. It would take a LOT of force to bend it.

My suggestion would be to get at leasts 17's for the summer and use steelies in the winter time, with winter tires of course. Have 2 sets of tires and rims, that's the best way to go.
