good, quiet tires?
The stock firestones already need replacing after 20K miles. I was looking for a good tire with little road noise. Someone told me bridgestone turanza is good, but I don't know for sure. What would you guys recommend?

Falken ze-512's, I have them, $40 each on www.vulcantire.com. They are excellent tires. Alot of people on here have them.

They are a little loud, only when at high speeds on the freeway. They are a excellent tire though. The tread is really good. I would get these tires again.

I'm pretty sure when I put my summer wheels/tires on last year, the Yokohama AVS ES 100 I got were much quieter.

I honestly don't think anyone makes a quieter performance tire.

I'm probably gonna go to tires plus or something. I'll look into michelins, but what should I know about ratings and such?

What about bridgestone touranza?
Or Falken ziex 512?
Or Michelin harmony?
I want something that will last a while and not be so loud as the firestones. I really don't know much about tires.

I use Pilot Exalto's which is a step down from Sport and for a very low profile tire with a speed rating like that they are VERY quiet as well. You can't hear them at all and they're a good ride to boot.
No contest IMO.

Thanks. I'm just looking for an all-around tire. Road noise is most important, followed by performance. I want these to last longer than 20K miles this time.
I'm leaning towards the bridgestone turanzas. I've heard good things and they're quiet. But I'll check michelin as well. Obviously civics aren't very fast, so I don't want a high performance tire that's only gonna last a couple years.

I replaced the Firestones with Michelin Harmony. They made a whining sound at about 50 mph that drove me nuts. That went away after I put 25 thousand miles on them though. Now they are very smooth and quiet.

Want a quiet tire... Michelin Symmetry. My mom's got them, they're nearly silent.

so if you have an EX ur sol. at Sam's we have Symmetry and the X Radial DT, my dad has the X radial DT, on his 02 LX Sedan, and that thing is awesome, I love the way it handles, the tires are smooth and I've never noticed any sound, plus, they're 80k tires.. If I needed S rated tires I'd definitly get the X radial DTs..
So guys what would be the best place to get the stick tires replaced? Sears, or any local shops? Or should I get the Falkens for $40 each and ask a shop to change them.(How much would that cost?)
Thanks
Thanks

I went to sam's club and they installed for maybe $40. The alignment was alot more expensive tho. I had a $20 off coupon at tires plus and still paid $60. Our civics are more expensive than other cars.

Yes. Mine was way off and would have caused the tires to wear down faster than normal. Alignment gets messed up by driving over bumps, potholes, curbs, and regular turning and driving.

Dude you should be replacing your stock tires cuz they suck ***, not because they're loud. I also have the Falken Ze-512s. I didn't notice road noise with the stock tires, and I don't notice it with these, either, for what that's worth. They handle a lot better, tho, and for the price they probably can't be beat.
check out www.tirerack.com and check out the reviews ppl left on certain tires. i'd look into michelin since their known to be one of the best tire companies around time. on that site, you can also type in which is most important from noise, threadwear, grip, etc.
im riding on bridgestone potenza re950 and its pretty quiet compared to my wanli high performance tires. i have them in 195/60/15 size and love them cause their very good in all ways.

Ironfist you didn't notice road noise with crapstones? I was dying to get rid of those, and they were done at 20k thankfully. The turanzas I got are sooo much quieter and much better in all weather.
i think i may be getting the ze 512 in 195/60/15 size. my rear tires are new firestones(stock) and my front are totally bald. this is a long story....not because i didnt rotate them or anything. but do u think it would be ok if i went with the falken 512 195/60/15 in front and left the 185/65/15 in rear? should i just spend the extra cash and get all 4?
