Brakes...

How often should brakes be changed? Including shoes, pads, and whatever else is the brake system. Thanx.

pads and shoes should be replaced when they are worn to thin, there is no mileage or time limit on them

depends where you drive. freeway, city driving...plus it depends on the driver. Do you downshift and use the engine brake?

typically they say 60 - 80,000 on front brakes for the average driver, now if it was a teenager, I'd knock that down by bout 20,000 miles, for me, my pads were almost gone after 25,000, but I do some fairly hard driving, I know my rotors were toast at about 20,000 but I had to wait till, 25,000 till i could get new ones.

My brake pads were worn at 45,000 miles so I changed the brake pads out and upgraded my rotors at the same time.

Mine are worn out right now. But I've got 55,900 miles on my car.

HondaLuver will become famous soon enough
i believed i changed my pads at 17,500... 30,000, 45, 000 and just recently i changed my fronts at 54,000. and since i was changing the fronts and had OEM organishit pads for my rear disc pads i put some back there also...

the rears should last longer, but it all matters how you drive
