Tires: Traction and longievity

I am really looking for a tire that will last more than 50k miles like my last pair. I never do crazy burn outs or anything like that but, I do like to bend the strut bars every now and then hehe. Anyho, what is your recommendation for a tire that can grip road and last some time because right now I got my tire rotated and my back tires are slicks, no tread what so ever =/. Thanks for the help guys.

usually the more traction you want, you have to sacrifice some longievity. what was ur last pair of tiress? if it was up to me, i would choose stickyness, more than longjievity.

To get both, you need to go to expensive tires. Even those you trade one off for the other. The better option is cheap sticky tires... AVS ES100s or something. They grip real well for street messing around and you'll probably get 25-30K out of a set. Under $100 for 17" sizes. Some sort of High Performance all season would last longer, but not grip nearly as hard. So pick whats more important.

You're not going to find a performance tire that lasts.
So if you want both, you may have to go to a performance all season. Just cuz it doesn't snow, doesn't mean you cant use an all season tire.

Kloverz has a little shameless behaviour in the past
The ECSTA ASX (ASX for All-Season Xtreme) are one of Kumho's newest line of tires, which has had great feedback from customers at The Tire Rack. Not only are they all season, aggressive, and responsive, but have a treadwear life of 420, which is almost unheard of for performance tires. try these go to TireRack.

Wouldnt some high performance goodyears work? They last somewhere in the 30k range, correct? My Neogens have been on my car for almost 20k. I have about half tread left. I do some hard cornering on the street.

ya, longevity and Traction dont ushually go together when talking about tires. For 50,000 miles, your looking at at least the High 300s of tread wear.... and thats a rock of a tire.

My Reccomendation, Sort out your suspension so that its handling its best for your type of driving and then find a tire that has the longevity you want. May not give you the best traction, but atleast the car wont be the understeering pig that it comes from the factory.

Well, I could go buy some massive 4' thick bridgestone tires but that would look horrible. My tires as of now I got from a wrecked Lexus IS300 for dirt cheap, hence the reason why I got them hehe. I want a nice performance tire thats lasts more than a few trips down the block. Also, Honda Luver is right, is doesn't snow here and now that summer is rolling around it won't rain either. Although it will get VERY hot and the pavement will melt alot of tire no matter how you drive.
