I was worried that if I painted mine it would look bad, but I did it anyway and it came out real good, I painted mine the same color as the car, and it came out fine.
I think if you painted them silver too, then it wouldnt look too bad, but thats just my thoughts.

Exactly^^^ Paint them the same colour as the car and you cant go wrong and do the drums at the same time, I did my calipers and drums black just like my car and it looks good, IMO

Painted Red.
Glossy.
Turned out pretty good. Just take time when you do this.
I used paint brush to do it. About 4-5 Coats.
You can buy VHT Caliper paint at any auto shops. I bought mine from Autozone.
$10 + Taxes.
Not too noticible..

thanks for the input guys, i think silver is the safe way to go but red will of course stand out more and set the car apart from the other 2 million silver civics out there.
in the end after seeing civicvtec1ps' ride
, i'm probably gonna go with red

Yellow matches with red, but I don't know about the brake color. The yellow that they sell is like a pastel light yellow, unless you can find a bright taxi cab yellow caliper paint. If you could find like an orange color to paint just the calipers and not the drums, that would look cool. If I could find orange I'd change my whole sheme color to that insead of red.
