Do 15s really look this small?
I was messing with one of those wheel program things, it just doesn't seem like the tires are this fat on the car. Maybe its me, or maybe its off.... anyone else think so? At first I thought it was the design of the wheel... then I tried 6 or 8 others and got the same bike rim with a balloon tire. So what the heck? Is the image off, or do they really look that damn tiny? And I'm not looking for an arguement to get 18s, I just want to see if anyone agrees that thats a little off.

Ya, 15's look small when compared to a car with 17's. I can't believe my first car had 13" alloy wheels (Celica GT, 1987). Tires were 195/70R13. Now those are FREAKING small...
yes those 15s are represented almost correctly, but the car looks lowered. even with stockies, 15s have significant gappage

I think the image is about right...the rims' many spokes make the overall wheel look too small, but proportionally they look right.
BTW...yes it DOES look dropped a little bit. There would be MUCH more gap...at least I had a TON of gap with my stock 15's and no drop.
OH...and Zzyzx,
ARE YOU RACING IN A PARKING GARAGE?!?!? lol I've never seen that before...kinda cool!!

It depends on the rims. Some 15s look nice, and others way too small. Here are my SI rims for comparison. It would look way better with a drop.

Maybe its just what I'm comparing it to or something, but those just look smaller than this:

And I understand the point of 15s is to be small. That also means they're light, and it means they have some tire on them...

An optical illusion in the first pic. A bigger tire will definintely swallow up the wheel. The stock tires on the 2k3 EX coupes make the Si wheels look plain wrong. It's all in the profile of the tire because the overall diameter of the wheel/tire combo is affected by a taller tire. If one were to go with say a 215/45-17 on their 17 wheel (as most people would go 205/40-17, the bigger tire would make the 17 look small in comparison.
Everyone's different when it comes to what looks small as I know a good # of users think 17s look too small, or don't fill up the wheel gap. Personally, I think it's more of a wheel width issue.
Oh, and I don't think 15s look small... at least not by my current sig.

yea i dont think 15s look small(when your car is lowered) but if it isnt lowered i think it gives it the look of being small.
well i just got my bronze slips last week(after my mom came back from the phillippines) and they are 15s so i was wondering what series tire should i put on my rims so that it doesnt make the rims look too small when i put them on my 7th gen? and i wont be lowering my car for awhile!(gotta pay off 2 speeding tickets!) i tired using the tire calculator here in 7thgencivic, and i am stuck between 215/50/15 or 225/55/15, so which one would make my slips look ok on my car (without me lowering the car) and not make the rims look really small?

15's look small next to 17's 18's etc... but when a 7th gen is slammed, no kit, or lip kit with 15's, I think thats the best look for our car!!!!
