Hey guys. I am going to buy new tires, 215/45/17 and i wanted to know which are the best to get. I want mainly hella tread life because i have gone through the 1/2 the stock and the aftermarket rubbers now and i only have 48k.

I would also like awsome traction and possibly low road noise.

You're asking for the impossible. You cannot have "hella tread life" and "awesome traction".
To have good grip you need a softer compound, which wears faster. So to get treadlife you need to use a harder compound, which won't hold as well. Low road noise is a function of the tire tread design... thats hit or miss, but most directional tires will make noise, its just the nature of the beast.
So pick... long life or traction. It doesn't sound like you did too bad with the other sets. The factory ones seem to be good for 40-50K, so if you killed 1/2 that, say 25K, then you got 25K out of what I'll assume to be a set of performance tires, which is about average.

check a comparision between tires. they have the "same" traction as paradas 2 in wet and dry, even better in wet, they have a good snow traction rating and they ride "silent" in compare with other HP tires.

you have 2 problems here and you need to asses which is more important to you

1. Traction
2. treadlife

Figure that out and we can point you at the right tires.

Ya but what does Hella mean? 15,000 miles, 40,000 80, 100? what?

you may want to rethink your tire size choice if you plan on dropping you car.
I think that 215/45/17 is too big for anything BUT stock hieght.

I have the toyo Fz4's on my ex w/ goldline springs and other than the camber wear i have no gripes. they are pretty sticky and they have a 290 treadwear (i think it's 290 anyway). i have put over 10,000 miles on them and they are still full of life.

Fost cost reasons, Yokohama ES100's . Somewhere around $107 a tire. Low road noise, nice grip.

for 40,000 miles, look at tires with tread wear of around 300 + (290 would work) how many miles you do get out of them depends alot on how you drive.

I highly doubt you'll get 40K from the AVS ES 100s....
Tire Rack didn't even think I could get 30 out of them, and thats before I asked them if they would survive autocross torture. They're wearing pretty well, but 40K is asking alot from a High Performance tire. HOWEVER, they're so cheap that replacing them after 25K wouldn't kill you. To go for 40K you'd probably need a High Perf. All season or something, which are gonna run you considerably more money. So just weigh it out... A cheaper, sticker tire with 25-30K intervals or a longer wearing, more expensive tire with 40-50K intervals.

i got toyo fz4 also and they are great. a little noise but hold good.

My friends got a set of Yokohama A539 215/45ZR/17 87W whatever all the numbers mean. Anyway with the tires on 17 inch rims his car seems to jump on the road a little as well as being noisy.
