Shipping rims

Does anyone know about how much 4 17" rims with tires would be to ship from California to Florida (residential)? I tried the UPS shipping calculator and got some outrageous numbers, like $170 for 6 day shipment (for 4 - 20"x20"x10" 40 lb boxes). Would UPS be a good choice or Fedex? Anyone ever ship rims out of state? Any help would be appreciated...

Most shiping companys ship by 2 things actual weight and dimentional weight. and they charge you on which ever is greater.

I would try one of the larger shipping companys, you may get a better deal then with UPS/Fedex.
