Currently the Falken Azenis and the Kumho MX are the top tires. dont konw of any one running any thing else in STS at the nationals....

They don't allow Falken Ze-512's. Not that I autocross, but that's what I have. Do you know why those aren't allowed?

its not that they arnt allowed its jsut that they wont be compeditive.... they are hard compaired to the tires listed here.


this is just a listing of Good tires for STS. you can run any tire with a tread wear of 140 or greater that has a maximum width of 225.

thanks for the info. Why wouldn't the potenza's with a rating of 140 be better than the azenis or MXs with ratings of 200?

They may or may not be better... but they probably cost 2-3 times as much as the Falkens and Kumhos do.

in therory it would be, but Thanks to the Federal Governments stupidity, the UTQG rating system is not standardized between manufacturers. Meaning Falkens 200 rating May actually be softer then Bridgestones 140 rating....

as far as how well a tire does in autocross, I can only say what is being used. and at the nationals the top tires are the Kumho MX and the Azenis.
