I recently bought a new set of wheels, so i need new locking lugs. are these any good? http://shop.store.yahoo.com/twincamt...kraclugnu.html would any tire shops have the key to the lug nuts?
Personally I have never heard of that brand. Try to stick with a more widely used brand of lugs/locks like Gorilla, McGuard and others. That way you should be able to find a lock key easier if you had to.
I have those for my race wheels. they are nice and light. only really improtant thing..... DO NOT OVER TORQUE THESE LUG NUTS!!!! I don't put mine on over 72 Ft/LBS meaning DO NOT USE AN IMPACT DRIVER ON THEM EITHER....
If you do.... you Are going to strip them and they your screwed...

Seriously I wouldn't even mess with them. I've heard so many problems with them getting stripped, cross threaded, etc... that I wouldn't even go there. Now all be it, they're mostly user screwups, but whats to say you won't inadvertently do it either?
If you're gonna get duraluminum nuts, get Zenkis, Rays, Works or Spoons. I think you can get matching locks for the Zenkis and the Rays come with a 7 sided keyed locknut. I had Zenkis, never had a problem with them, and I just bought a set of Rays (I wanted closed ended nuts, locking and lightweight all in one). They're expensive, yes. But its just the price you pay.

The torque specs for our cars is 80ftlbs, do you think it would be safe to leave those at 72 all the time?Originally posted by Zzyzx

The manual accounts for STEELIES. You don't tighten aluminum wheels as tight. You'll mess them up. 72-75 is right for aluminum ones.Originally posted by Renamazazo
