Lightbulb Need some expertise

I just need some info. I have Progress Springs on my ex coupe. according to the shop it is about a 1.7" drop. Right now I have 205/40/17's on. Speedometer is accumulating miles faster than I would like. If anyone has a drop exactly like mine or close to 1.7", I want to know what larger size tire I could possibly fit or if I could fit any at all. (I rather the speedometer be slow than fast if that means anything). Thanks for any help!

what Trim level is your civic ?

If its not an EX a 205/45-17 would match or a 205/50-17

if it is any of these would work
205/45-17
205/50-17
215/40-17
215/45-17

Oh ya, not to be **** or any thing, but that thing that racks up the Milage.... its called an Odometer. The speedometer is what tells you how fast you are going.

Yeah my bad, you're right. As long as the point gets across though. Ok, so explain the trim level. Like I said I have an EX with a 1.7 drop.

Disregard, previous reply. I have to many people talking around me. So my car being an EX and dropped 1.7" can run on 205/50/17 and 215/45/17? What scares me is the drop because just by looking at the car's profile it looks like there is barely a gap.

The proper tire size for a 17" wheel for the 7th gen EX coupe is 215/45-17. That is the closest overall height to stock. With that drop you should'nt have any rubbing issues, but there is not much else you can do beside roll the fenders (if you had to) or live with the extra miles. Check the suspension forum and there is a thread there with suspension drop pictures, I believe its at the top. That will give you some-what of an idea what the gap is going to look like with the new tires.

Because the wheel spins/ rotates faster when a wheel and tire combo. that is shorter in overall height is used, the opposite goes for a larger tire and wheel, you won't have as many miles as you have actually gone. Its not a huge difference but it adds up. It will also effect your speedometer too, with the smaller diameter wheel it will read faster than you are going and the larger will read slower.
