185 vs 195 vs 205

Ok I'm getting 15x6.5 wheels

Stock tires are 185x65x15 and I was going to get those, but would the extra 1 or 2cm in width be worth it to go up to 195x60 or 205x60?

195x60x15 would make my speedometer .96% too fast.
205x60x15 would make my speedometer .96% too slow.

Would either of those other sizes have an effect on acceleration or anything? The difference in diameter is like 1/10 of an inch, but who knows. Is it worth changing tire size to get an extra 1 or 2cm of width (195 and 205, respectively), or should I keep the stock size and have a speedometer error of 0%.

What's the widest section width and tread width that will fit on our cars?

Thanks for the input.

none that would be noticable. Less then 1%.....

now if you went to a 205/50-15 then you may see a difference.
For mine its almost a 6% difference in tires size (Small) which give me a little bit of a boost in acceleration.

What about tread width and section width? The 205's have a section width of 8.2 and a tread width of 6.7. Will that fit or would it rub?

Alright cool. Cuz one of those articles I read that was at a site that you linked to in your "Brake Myths" post was talking about how all these 205's of different companies were different sizes and some of the rubbed. I'd be pissed if I bought all this stuff and then it rubbed.

So I guess I'll go with the 205/60/15s.

Finally I made a decision
