Final word on 225/40-18 Tires?

I'm going to buy 18x7.5 rims w/ a 1-1.5 drop and i have searched the site for answers to go with 215/40 or 225/40. seems to be split. The only two straight answers i'm looking for are: Will 225 rub? and/or will the rim stick out further from the tire if i did go with 215? Thanks

i have 215-40-18's with Tien S.techs about a 1.5 drop. Tires rub when taking quick turns and hitting dips. They will deffinetly rub if you have alot of people in the car.

Same here, 225/40-18 are definatley a little too big. 215/40-18 would come closest to stock overall diameter and still give you a little more sidewall, I had 215/35-18's with about a 1.25" drop and never had any rubbing but the ride was a little harsh with those tires. The pic below is of my front gap with H&R's and konis.

I'd go with 225/35/18 But they are a bit harder to find.
