How to Re-Torque wheels?
Well I got my 18" Centerline RPM's installed yesterday. It's been about 100 miles and I'm ready to re-torque them down to spec but I was wondering, in my manual that came w/ my torque wrench it said not to torque fasteners that had already been tightened. So should I take them loose then re-torque them. That doesn't seem to make much sense. So should I just set it to 80 and go at it
I'm thinkin' the authors of your torque wrench manual weren't really imagining re-tightening new wheels to spec when they wrote that. You would probably be okay to listen to the wheel manufacturer instead
If you set it to 80 and the wheels are at 80, then the torque wrench will make a noise. As long as you dont keep going, you are just "checking". If it didnt click, then keep going till it does. Then after doing all four wheels you will know that all of the wheels are tight. Thats what I did whell I got my RH evos.
