you planning on getting 35 or 40 series? not that many companies make 35 series, but you'll have more luck finding pretty good 40 series tires.

dont you already have the yoko avid h4 on your steelies? you can always try to find those tires for 18's.

you can always go for the non-brand name kind. since grip isnt a factor for you

I've seen quite a few threads where people seem to be happy with the mileage they are getting out of their Falken Ziex ZE-512 tires.
Treadwear Rating: 360
Traction: A
Temperature: A
215/35-18 size is $124 ea @ Discount Tire Direct:

If I ever need 18" tires with good performance & treadlife, I'm going to go for these Continental "ContiExtremeContact" tires.
Treadwear Rating: 400
Traction: AA
Temperature: A
They are $143 + shipping @ Tire Rack:

You would probably get good treadlife out of either of those and still not go flying off the road

Yup Paradas... They aren't silent on the highway, but they're not loud either. I got mine for $107 apiece with my employee discount

Those Continentals will last a little longer, but not much. Thats probably the closest you can get to a touring tire with a 18 inch wheel. It looks like they would be a great all around tire. I love the tread pattern on my Paradas though I've had three sets of them on different cars.

Yeah, although you'll feel every little bump in the road. If the roads are fine in your area then go for it.

The roads around here suck so I went with 215/40s.

Hey, everyone. I just recently bought a set of 18" racing hart c5's for my girls 01 civic with with kumho tires. Granted that I do work for Kauffman tire and do get some great deals on wheels and tires but I figured I will let you in on a little secret. Check out tirerack.com. They are selling 215/35/18 kumho 712's (which are going on my girls car) for $88 a piece. They are a great tire and am curently running those on my turboed/n2o driven miata. So check out tirerack.com and take a look. Hope that helps.
