What's the best All-Season tire?
As I have read there are a lot of factors when asking this question. That is why I have asked this particular question.
I have a 2001 LX Coupe. I live in Toronto, Canada and are in desperate need of new tires. Just as a disclaimer I know absolutely nothing about buying tires; ICE on the other hand is a different story. I can't afford two different types of tires (ie. summer/winter) so I have chosen to go all-season. I am not into performance or anything, but completely despise the idea of sliding around across town like I did the last few winters on the stock rubber. The weather can go from pretty dam cold (ie. snow storms, slush, ice) to pretty dam hot (ie. Nelly) here and need an excellent all 'round tire that will hold up during these different climate conditions.
I have been looking and reviewing a few tires and posts and it seems as though everyone likes the Bridgestone Ponteza's or the Yokohoma Avid's. Other than that there are a lot of other options that make it difficult to choose from. I am a very picky person when it comes to buying things for the car and only want the best. In terms of where I live and my preference's of driving what would be the best all-season tire for me? Or, what do you think is the best all-season tires?
Thanks

Bridgestone Potenza RE950s are the best I can think of. I've been in a car, in the snow shod with them, and they were incredibly sure footed. And they've got enough stick to them, you can have a little fun in the summer too.
If you're running on stock 15" rims, I would also recommend Michelin X-Ones. Very smooth and quiet, with excellent grip. And they have the longest tread life that I know of: 80,000 miles.
Michelins are always at the top of anyone's list - slystad, does Discount Tire already have pricing & sizes on the Destiny? If so, what ballpark price range for the 185/70-14 LX size?
The Bridgestone Potenza RE950's that Boilermaker1 recommended have had nothing but good reviews since their introduction, including the Tire Rack owner's survey where they are currently #1 in the high performance all-season category.
If you like the RE950's and end up deciding on them, don't be discouraged because they aren't made in our 185/70-14 LX size. Just order 195/65-14 -- You will get 10mm extra tread width and the diameter will only be 0.12" shorter (less than 1%) -- no rubbing problems or speedometer error.
Hope this helps!
