205/50-16 all the way...

Yokohama AVS ES100 or Nitto Neo Gen if you want lower priced (don't make Paradas in this size)

Medium expensive: Bridgestone Potenza RE750 or Goodyear F1 GS-D3

Money no object: Bridgestone Pole Position S03 or Michelin Pilot Sport

how would 215/45/16 or 205/45/16 be? instead of the semi-thick */50/*

What about 215 50 16. That would give you somewhat of a stock tire size wouldnt it?

I've got Bridgestone Potenza RE950s and I absolutely love them. In 215/45, they were about $140 each. I would recommend them to anyone anytime. They're kind of loud, but not obnoxiously. I think 205/50 would be good. They're still gonna be a decent size for potholes and such.

BTW - your rims are awesome.

205/45-16 doesn't have a large enough overall diameter, so they would look very small in your wheelwell. Also HUGE speedometer error (4-1/2 to 5 percent)

215/45-16 might work, although I'm not aware of anyone who has tried it due to the big money it costs to buy a tire this size. The Falken Azenis is the only tire I know of that is under $650/set, but they are hard to find. Maybe with a little more research somebody could help you out here.

215/50-16 is going the wrong way...it would have a taller sidewall than the 205/50-16

You have one other choice--go with a 195/50-16 which would give you about the same sidewall & overall dimensions as the 215/45-16. Unfortunately, tire choices are very limited (again ) but at least this time they are all CHEAP like Kumho 711's & 712's, Dunlop FM901's, etc...

I had the 195/50's the first time, but I have come to my senses lol Just go ahead and get the 205/50-16's now No pressure or anything

note: the Potenza RE950's are great, but they aren't made in any of the 16" sizes you need

Yes, smaller diameter has its advantages

It changes your gearing so you can get off the line quicker in a race

You can drive a little faster according to your speedometer, but the car will be actually be travelling a little slower. Maybe it will get you out of a speeding ticket

thats a pretty good deal man. well i was talkin to a local hookup on tires, and he told me to get a 45 series cuz it looked better. he said 50 is for 15's, 40 is for 17's...do the math. too bad i had already been folowing this thread and bought a 205/50. but according to the tire calc, i SHOULD be a gettin a 50 series. i really don't know what the point of the post is, i guess im having doubts whether or not my purchase was right or not....you know how that goes.
