2007 Civic Hybrid A Good Buy?
2007 Civic Hybrid A Good Buy?
Hello, I'm brand new to this forum, it seems very nice and full of useful information. I'm considering purchasing a HCH2, but decided I would consult this forum first. I currently own a 2003 Honda Insight and absolutely love it. I am looking for a secondary car with 4 doors. There's a 2007 Civic Hybrid for sale near me for $1000 (I think I can talk him down to $800). It has 165,000K on the clock, with a dead hybrid battery. It has some light rust, but overall it's not too bad for the price. Would I be able to grid charge the battery and bring it back to life? I think it's pretty far gone... the car starts right up with a jump and runs smooth. Are there any common problems with these cars to look out for? Thanks!

Get a printed quote from Honda for the new battery/install. Also bring some craigslist print outs like you're looking at multiple rides. I do this when ever I buy used. It gives you a lot more power with your bluff.
-bought a 1997 mx6, guy wanted $800, got it for $200, lol. But it had a lot of issues. (Ended up sending it to scrap)
-bought a 1996 integra, guy wanted $1200, got it for $800.
Bring it with you when you talk to the guy/gall and offer $700.
Worst case he holds firm and you buy it at $1000.
