Switching to synthetic...

I have a 2010 Civic EX with 27k miles on it and am about to switch to synthetic oil...

do I need to fill with synthetic, run, then drain, then top off again to make the switch?

or

Can I just drain the standard oil and top off with new filter and synthetic oil?

Re: Switching to synthetic...

Just a drain and fill should be fine.

Re: Switching to synthetic...

OK...do I need to make my next oil change interval short or anything? Someone told me I had to drop the standard oil, fill with synthetic, run vehicle, then flush and refill with synthetic. That just sounds like a waste of 4 quarts to me....
