Heater doesn't seem to be working properly..not the switches. I was wondering if maybe it needed to be flushed It doesn't throw off enough heat to me , 2005 civic lx. If it needs flushing does anyone have a video on how to?

Could have an air bubble trapped in the heater core.
Put front of car as high as possible or park up a steep inline.
Turn climate control to max heat and fan off.Open radiator cap and let engine idle for about 20 minutes to release air in coolant system.Fill coolant in radiator and reservoir as needed.
Afterward replace radiator and reservoir cap. Allow engine to cool completely. Check radiator and reservoir level and fill as needed.

If that doesn't solve the issue look up YouTube vids how to flush the heater core.

Another possibility it blown head gasket which can cause heater core to become intermittent. Do a block-test on the coolant system. General symptom of a blown head gasket is loss of coolant in radiator and overflow or high coolant in reservoir.

There is also a valve that controls coolant flow to the heater core. Mounts to the firewall in the engine bay. Maybe it is stuck closed.
