96 civic smog question?
can I be able to pass California smog if I run my 96 civic ex with no thermostat? will that help lower the NOx ? since it will get more coolant to cool the engine...

Probably not, sounds like you need a cat. Is it a sniffer test or an obd test?

You need a smog check on a 1996 model year? I thought CA now exempts cars 25 years or older from emissions testing

Looks to be ‘75 and lower for gas and ‘97 and under for diesel
