Re: 2010 Honda Civic LX Interior question
Hi all. This is more of a query than a DIY or mechanical issue and it may apply to many years of Hondas so maybe this question fits in here better. I bought my 2010 Honda used in 2012 and upon recently cleaning the interior, I lifted up the floor mats and found the backing of the floor mats had disintegrated and the particles made the carpet a solid sticky mess. I took it to a detailer and they were able to get it about 90% clean. The fact that it looks like it does now is a complete relief. Here's the question that nobody I've talked to yet has an answer to so I could use some help from actual Honda owners. The car is Gray and Sienna Beige. The carpet is Beige. My floor mats were Gray (Why would they be Gray?). Anyway, I need to buy new floor mats obviously. I look online and I see Beige and Gray floor mats for sale for this model although the Gray seem to be more readily available. Would Honda have put Gray floor mats in with Beige carpet or did the previous owner do this? (The detailer who's had 4 Hondas told me yeah, Honda would do that.) I realize this may be a bit of a lame question, but I'm a bit picky about keeping the car as it was intended. Just one more thing....I see online that some sellers claim that thier's are OEM however some say "Civic" on them and the others nothing. If both are OEM, were the ones with "Civic" on them for a specific model? Sorry for the long-winded question. Have not had any issues since I bought the car and this is my first Honda so I really appreciate any comments. Thank you.
Re: 2010 Honda Civic LX Interior question
Thanks for responding. Yeah, I just thought it was weird that I bought the car when it was 2-3 years old and never saw floor mats that were different than the carpet. Previous owner must have really messed them up after only a couple years to have to replace them. I did go ahead and order some Sienna Beige floor mats so they match although that color is harder to get now after 10 years.
Re: 2010 Honda Civic LX Interior question
I'd bet it happened at the dealer.... some person buying a model without floor mats said I want floor mats and a sales guy just took them form one car to another...
Then a person buys the car and said it' supposed to have floor mats and the next sales man say all we have is a gray set, yanked fomr yet another car and says is that ok and the customer says OK... big circle.

Re: 2010 Honda Civic LX Interior question
Okay....ordered *Sienna Beige* Floor Mats. Got them Monday. They're the same color as the old floor mats...which are Gray. These are OEM floor mats from Honda which arrived in a Honda box with the Honda sticker and code. Looked the code up on the internet and it says Sienna Beige. Apparently to Honda, Sienna Beige looks like Gray.
Re: 2010 Honda Civic LX Interior question
Or they simply use Gray mats in a Sierra Beige car...
My '08 Civic EX Cpe. has Atlas Gray carpet and Atlas Gray mats... we bought it factory fresh from Honda dealer in '08.
