Question If you have a 2001, what are your major issues with the car?

I have a 2001 LX sedan(5-speed), and I haven't had any problems with it. *knock on wood* I was wondering what problems you guys have had?

Problems I has w/ my '01 LX before I LEMONED the **** @ 8k miles:

-The ENTIRE fuel system (2 recalls, FSU, Fuel Gauge, Evap canister leaked all over the ground etc.)
Windows stuck (common in '02s as well)
Seats Rock (02's as well)
A/C smelled something fierce
Tranny Bushings
Rattling in the rear

Not really a problem but things that were "fixed" in '02
Bouncy suspension - changed damping profile
Steering rack changed out
Made thicker anit-roll bar standard on LX
Etc...

My 2001 LX Sedan 5 speed has 63,000+ miles - the major annoyance for me has been the creaky - sometimes binding clutch pedal. Of lesser concern is the highly erratic fuel gauge , had the entire cluster replaced - still erratic. Still , the only out of pocket expenses have been for maintenance.

The original tires were shot after around 37,000 miles even when I rotated them. The were evenly wore but just barely any tread left.

I did add a Honda CD player , replaced it with an Alpine , bought some HX wheels and added a steering wheel cover.

oh god...

1. Tranny is messed up pops out of 2nd gear whenever there is a significant noise.
2. The clutch makes some sweaking and clicking noises inside of the car.
3. the trunk leaks water
4. the a/c smells
5. the rear suspension squeaks like a ****.
6. the rear deck rattles like a ****.
7. the fuel guage is all messed up.
8. the rear seats are fading up on top.
9. the paint sucks. WAy to thin...

but these problems are all to be solved in a couple more weeks when my k20 gets dropped in. the paint problem is already fixed since i just got the whole car re-shot with some quality house of pearls paint..

Hmmmm alright, ive had a few probs...

1. The tranny problem where it pops out of 2nd...
2. 3rd gear synchro is gone (apparently due to aftermarket intake, put stock intake back on, gotta take it back see if they will fix it, or take it to another dealer)
3. Leaking, wet under floor mat

hmmm thats all i can think of now, not too much, but that god damn syncho problem pisses me off, cant shift above 3 grand into 3rd without grinding.

Now when you say the rear deck is rattleing, is that because you have subs? I have 2 12" Eclipse subs and my rear deck rattled like crazy, but I took it off and put padding under it. Now it's fine.

It's a roll of black spongy stuff. On one side of it there is adheisive. I cut it in to little squares and stuck them all over the deck. Note* It's a pain in the *** to get the rear deck off*

for AT drivers, does anyone ever hear *click* noises when reversing the car and shifting to D and press the brakes?

the dealers told me that "you are supposed to hear it?" doesn't make sense. imma go back to the dealer as soon as i get my car from the shop (got in a car accident 2 weeks ago.)

clicking like he said from R to D thats calipers i was told, bad tranny(changed out at 11K), tires went bald after 3400miles, new firestone tires went bald after 4000miles, found out wheels were off camber and were angled inward so instead f smoothly going strraight they were pushing towards eachother wearing tread down fast, door panles peeling liie a ****, rattling everywhere, gas gauge fugged up i fill up and its on E, heat gauge doesnt wanna work, this *new* tranny changes gears weird and realy harsh, only things on the car that are nice are my aftermarket **** that havent given me any problems so far.

i havent had any problems really... just the front rubber coming off.. i have poped my tires 3 times tho. Once in New york, and twice actually in the last month. Just a run of bad luck with that i think.

I did buy mine used... its a 01 and had 9k miles on it.. I wonder why it was used but it could have been a lease.

On the dash around the radio and such it looks like someone tried stealing it out. not right around the radio but that bigger part.. u can see little scrape marks.

All in all ive had no probs.

I have an 01 sedan, and have a few issues: there's a crack developing on the airbag panel over on the passenger side, the rear driver's side door is out of alignment, the hood is misaligned, the airvents in the centerstack are too loose, rust on bottom edge of front passenger-side door(under the cheap weatherstripping), the paint, while pretty, is really thin and is getting pitted and chipped entirely too fast. I like my car, but Honda Civic quality has slipped. I owned an 88 CRX Si, which I think was built in Japan. I'd take the quality level of that car over my present car any day.

2k1 EX Auto Coupe - the only problems i have had so far is the stank *** A/C filters...i haven't changed them yet...i have 58k miles on my car...and it has had no tranny plms...but i'm starting to wonder, kuz whenever i accelerate at a moderate pace it feels like 2nd gear takes a while to catch on..its almost like a yo-yo not catching all the string on the first drop...i haven't had service on the car ever since i've gotten it, only a 50k maint. check. my rear deck rattles when i had the stock speakers, and my new 6x9's ....and yeah, it is a bitch to take out the rear deck...i cut myself on the fingers tryin to pry the **** out...haha...i'm worried my tranny is messed up and not the way it used to be kuz i used to neutral drop when i first got the car and i'm wonderin if its messed up....hmm...thats about it...what about YOU!?

not to be a smart *** or anything, but how are you trying to manually lock the doors? Are you just pressing the lock button? or are you pulling the inner door handle and while holding it, then hitting the lock button? You must pull the handle and lock the doors at the same time.
