Attention to all who care about their car. I was recently informed by the Extended warranty company that their have been alot of claims for the transmission on civics. I had to get my transmission replaced and I have to pay the deductible. He said that most calims came in at about 50,000 miles so watch out! I mean don't get me wrong it is not all civics but its better to be safe then sorry and the people at Russell and Smith Honda are excellent they said the trans is covered for a standard time of 5 yrs 60,000 miles, but (there's always a but) that mt problem was only covered on the extended warranty. SO just thought I would let you guys gals out there know this.
Duece,
Rick

Could you be more specific about your problem? Double clutching does not hurt the car, on more aggressive down shifts it makes the syncros do very little work if done correctly.

Well I don't exactly know yet I found out the other day that the extended warranrty company is going to pay for a "new" tranny, problem started about a month ago with the second gear grinding. I did put the clutch in all the way and when I threw it into 2nd it would pop itself out repeatdedly until I got tired of hearing my car make that sound so I went from first to third gear. Then three nights ago I was leaving and when I decided to test out if second gear is working it grinded horribly, man I was pissed so I went to thrid gear came to a red light and first gear didn't enter at all. Took it to the dealership the next day and find out that a new tranny is the only way to go. SO moral of my story don't test out your gears yourself (unless your a professional) have the company look at it.

And about the syncros the service guy at RS Honda said that it was the syncros that they were "reading" the shifts right. So it made the tranny umtimately **** itself up. D/K anything else just know that my rental is a Focus DAMN that car ****ing sucks Looks like an echo on crack.

Duece,
Rick
