AC WONT KICK IN

Okay, yesterday I turned on my AC, but it wouldnt kick in, the little AC light is on, but no cold air... So my guess is the fuse, but where is it, i did not see it in the fuse panel under the steering column or the one under the hood by the battery.. Any one have any ideas what htis could be or where this stupid fuse is?????

The best way to find a blown fuse is with a test light you can buy at a parts store for $5, just turn the ignition on and ground the test light. Then use the sharp pointed end and touch it to the little exposed metal slots each side of the amp number of the fuse, if the test light lights up on each side then the fuse is good, but if it lights up on one side but not the other then its bad. Just check them all until you find the blown one.

You could also have a leak in the system and the low pressure switch will open its contact and keep the compressor from kicking on, its a saftey measure so you don't fry the compressor. If the A/C light is coming on the das I dought you blew a fuse. I'll check my service manual for you to find exactly wher the fuse is. I'll be back............

According to the Service Manual its fuse #1 under the hood, it should be a 20 amp fuse.
#2 Dash lights
#3 Dome light
#4 Radiator fan motor

and etc. etc.

Also check to make sure the compressor clutch wire didn't come disconnected, maybe if you did some work under the hood it could have been bump loose. Just a thought, let me know because I was ASE certified in A/C and I know A/C really well.
