HELP Interior lights going
Ok i have an issue that I need help with please. My dashlights don't work (as well as the climate control lights), I have an automatic and the light that tells you which gear your in works. Also my domelight dosen't work with the door pin switches, the door pins work because when i leave the kay in the ignition it makes that annoying sound. Could anyone send me a schematic, or give me any troubleshooting help. I have done all of the obvious. I cannot take it to a dealer I live in Germany, it's a little drive. Please Help. Thanks
Hello Cokafka,
Besides fuses, have you checked the brightness control? It's often overlooked because you may not have (although a child or family member may have) turned them down.
I checked my service manuals, and there are several pages of schematics, as well as an involved procedure for troubleshooting. There is a self diagnostic built in to the dash gauge, as well.
My first recommendation is for you to buy this manual. I have used it to troubleshoot a problem with headlights. You can see all the fuses, wire colors, etc. I purchased mine from www.helminc.com for $76. It is the manual recommended by the Honda dealer and well worth it if you are capable of understanding schematics. It also gives detailed instructions about how to take things apart, etc.
In this circuit, specifically, there are several fuses, in both the under hood location as well as the under dash location. I know this is rather vague, but there are so much details to try and include, it would be rather confusing.
See how fast you can get the manuals, and let me know how that works.

I have checked as many fuses as I could. I even pulled the under dash fuse box/wire harnes to check for burnt wires (that is for the dash lights). I don't know what to do, I guess I will have to get the manual.
The self diagnostic? what does that incude.
Gardener is there a way you could get me perhaps a page or to start troubleshooting perhaps from the main fuse box to the dash itself. I would appreciate it.

Fuses:
+VBat -> Under hood fuse #19 (80 A) -> Under hood fuse #20 (40 A) (white wire) to ignition switch. -> under dash fuse #10 ( 7.5 A) -> pin A17 of gauge assembly.
+VBat -> Under hood fuse #19 (80 A) -> Under hood fuse #9 (10 A) -> pin A18 of gauge assembly.
The self diagnostics test functionality of lights and communications to gauge assembly.
The manual details the diagnostic tests (requires a specific sequence of tests in a certain time limit) as well as several pages of schematics.

Fuses with wire colors:

+VBat -> Under hood fuse #19 (80 A) -> Under hood fuse #9 (10 A) -> WHT/RED wire to pin A18 of gauge assembly.

Hey Cokafka,
I am having the same problem. No lights in dash as well as climate control, and I've checked _all_ the fuses, inside and out. Installed a radio myself, trying to save a few dollars, now look what I've gotten myself into!
Anyways, if you find out how to fix it it, please let me know. Thanks.

I have broken down and made an appointment to take it to a dealer. I live in Germany so I will see how it will go. When I find out what the problem is I will let you know. I have traced it down to the red wire on the left side of the gauge cluster (cant remember the harness plug colour), it's not getting power.
