Rep Power: 0 Paint already peeling on new '02 EX...help!
The other day when I was washing my car I noticed that there is a section where the body paint is peeling off and exposing the metal underneath. The section is about 1.5 inches long and about one half of an inch high. It has peeled off right near the gap between the body and the driver's side taillight assembly.
Has anyone discovered problems/imperfections with your paint? I just bought my car ('02 EX) brand new in Dec. '02, so I didn't expect to encounter this crap. It pisses me off because Hondas are known for their high standards in build quality, yet I'm already dealing with paint that has a problem with staying on my new car. Unacceptable!
If I go to my Honda dealership will I be covered under warranty (to lazy to go through warranty coverage book)? I thought about repainting the section myself, but what's the point if more of the paint peels. As long as I'm covered under warranty I would rather have the dealership fix it. They better not try and accuse me though of negligence or the "harsh" weather that we always experience here in Southern Cali. Anyways, please give your advice or opinions about this. Thanks.
