failed state inspection for projetor lights
failed state inspection for projetor lights
are the projectors without the halo, the ones with the chrome plate that covers everything up. they said that the headlight is illegal and then they said that i have to run the stock bulb type which my projector runs an h3 foglight bulb. But the funny thing is that I modified the projector bulb housing to aqccept the stock 9003/h4 bulbs and they still failed me. yes the low and high beam were coming from the projector lens and not from the seperate lens housing that came with the projectors but does this make sense? Are the projectors legal or illegal? Or is that legality determined by the state?

Well bro most of it is decided by the state because, I don't have to go through any tests, but anyways. Here in Florida when I talked to a friend of mine he said that as long as they don't exceed the brightness, that any difference in the headlight doesn't matter unless it is blue. Most likely its just the state you live in but sorry I can't provide that much help.

If the headlights are DOT/SAE approved (which means you either have a little card or peice of paper verifying that or the housing has that imprinted on it, or both) it should be fine. TYC's are, and have both to show they are DOT/SAE legal, but I dont know if the Matrix ones do or not.
