Yessireee boys and girls...I'm now on my 4th..yes 4th set of Honda front shocks...second set of rears. Cars not lowered..I have a hair over 60k kms on my car and blown shocks..Sad thing is... the front shocks when blown don't really seem to negatively affect handling in any way ..except when going over big bumps..otherwise I'd neve rhave guess they were blown...

Oi.. gotta love Honda.. good ting I bought a 1 year extended warranty....Time for Koni's this spring

Ha Ha. I got you beat. I had my first pair (new) up until 20000 miles, that was at the end of August. I am going to the dealer on Tuesday to replace them again, and now I have 23000 miles. Supposedly the service advisor told me they were both leaking, and also mine I dont think affect handling, but I could hear a constant creak, and moan in the front.

Very bouncy crappy ride.. after a turn the car doesn't just level off it kinda of bou ces into the place the second your straighten the wheel.. small bumps through curves cause the car to understeer because the tires keep losing contact with the road..and your trusts are laking a smelly fluid..

you guys have no idea how bad the streets here in montreal are!!! I went to florida and was shocked at how smooth and pot-hole free the roads are there.

I think I might have blown struts too. I have 25k miles so I think I'm in the range some people have problems. The symptoms are that the suspension seems alot louder than it used to and I'm pretty sure the ride is somwhat bouncier than it used to be. But my buddy has a car that definitely has blown struts but thats a slammed 97 eclipse and its way worse than mine. When I change lanes fast its still pretty stable, but going over bumps its seems worse, but I haven't paid attention too much to that. Maybe I'll go drive a new one and see how it feels. Like it says above, there might be fluid leaking from them or not. I've never heard of that from blown struts. Anyways, lemme know if my thinking seems on target...

What condition are the roads around you? Have you been driving the car aggressively? Kinda curious to know cause I have 47,000 miles on mine with a set of goldlines and the struts seem to be holding up okay.

I'm from Milwaukee, so the roads pretty much suck That probably has alot to do with it, but I woulda thought they would last longer! There are plenty of other cars that have struts that last way longer. I'm not sure about this, but the 7th gen civic is one of the first Honda's with struts right? Maybe they didn't get it quite right.

My front end seems crappy now. I don't know if they are blown but occasionally if I turn and hit a bump/pothole in the road I feel a slight 'pop'. Over large speedbumps, my front shocks bottom out. Are my shocks blown? How else can I check visually?

I've got a front strut bar. Should I remove it before taking to the dealer so they won't blame it on my bar?

I have a feeling mine are gone too. Ride quality is horrible. Small dips in the roads sometimes cause it to bottom out. I feel like I'm being tossed around the interior going over bumpy roads.

My dealer is going to hate me...I'm going to be taking it in for about 10 warranty repairs all at once.

Thats what I do. It easier that why, instead of going up there for every little thing.

My shocks are squeaking, sounds like the bed your trying to have sex on, but don't want your parents to hear, that's what it sounds like..
Also, normal bumps in the road that i go over everyday seem a lot bigger...

I wonder if mine are going out...

Yeah but the thing that pisses me off is when you take your car in, the problem you had doesn't appear! Then if they don't see it, hear it, they'll say there's no problem. THen when you drive off 10minutes later the POS would come back. DAAAMMMNNNN IT!
