Types of problems ya'll have had with ur 7gen. Civ?
Okay we'll I'm a newbie on here (Hi!) . But I just recently got my '02 LX Coupe this October. So far..no major problems. Just a very bad dent near my passenger side door from a stupid tree branch hitting it in a storm.
Trust me...I'm very mad at this since I just found it the other day.
But I've been reading and I'm seeing alot of people are having similar problems with their 01/02 civics which makes me wonder and plus I think I'm starting to notice similar things in mine as well. I didn't think I'd have many problems ever with it since we've always had hondas w/o ANY big problems, but now I'm starting to worry Can you all post what problems you've had with yours? I'm very eager to see....Thankyou ;}
My problems so far... (purchased Oct. 02)
1. Windows seem to rattle and shake when I'm driving at faster speeds
2. Stupid front rubber bumper piece came unattached just cuz I hit a parking thing (GR) but I'm managing to fix it.
3. Went over a big road hump..underneath on the front made a HUGE scrapping sound
(AND THIS WAS AT PEP BOYS!!! THEY JUST WANT US TO MESS IT UP TOO SO WE CAN FIX IT THERE!!! LOL JK :}
4. I have a Kenwood MP3 player put in near the time I got it... now I'm noticing that sometimes when my music is really loud it starts to skip.
And its not the CD, it's the CD player or some audio problem thats making it do this.
5. That big dent on my passenger side. A small tree branch did it...but it seems like the side body panels are a bit flemsy and not good I wonder (?)
6. Steering wheel seems to be acting funny lately..like it wants to jerk the other way.

Of the problems you mentioned, I only had or have problem number 4. I have the Kenwood MP-8017. I love the player, just actaully got it back from the shop. It was at the shop for 4 months.
It was skipping, and wouldnt read any CD's. It would always TOC Error. Do you have a system, that also could be why it is skipping. I have just replaced my 6x9's and it isnt that loud. My only other problem, I have an '01 EX Coupe, is the front struts are creaking again. But I heard that they fixed it for 02. The bumper piece is easy to fix, mine too also came off, I think there are a couple of nuts, and some screws under there. Thats it, and easy fix, dont take it to the dealer, they might charge you to put it back on.
Welcome to the site, have fun, and dont let the other people bother you too much.

My clutch squeeked but I fixed it.
I had a rattle next to the sunroof that I fixed.
My gas guage gave a false reading about 6 months ago but no problems since.
My seat rocks slightly and that is common to this generation.
Those are very minor issues and although they shouldn't be there at all, it's not like they are problems in need of repair. They are just very annoying. Nothing has broken nor do I expect it to.

Well, i wouldnt return it. Keep an eye on it. My deck was acting wierd for about a month too before I got home and was able to bring it in. I was working in Kansas, and had to drive home to Minnesota, and I was freaking out cuz it wouldnt read some of my favorite CD's. What kinda deck do you have? My advice is, Kenwood makes good decks, keep an eye on it, if it gets worse go have it fixed.

LOOKS NICER!!!!!! I had an 01 Civic and I had it for about 22,000 miles in that time I had problems with my tranny, brakes, alternator, front knuckle bearing, cv boot, front ball joint, SRS, speedo, fuel gauge, rattles everywhere, 02 sensor, I know there were more i just can't think right now.
