Please Read: Serious Help Needed!!!
you guys, I f**ked up! friday we had some rainy weather in southern california and around 7 pm, when i was getting off work, i took the regular route home. well one of the main intersections was flooded, and really didn't know how deep the water was, plus, it was raining like hell and i couldn't see. well n e way, i decided to cross the street, thinking i'd be alright but half way through the street i noticed that the water was high, high enough to were i couldnt even open the door. i kept driving, and a second later, my car just shut down!! all power went out and the car never turned back on. i have a aem cold air intake and i just know that it took in water. when i got out of the car and looked under the hood, the intake filter was submerged under water. oh no bypass valve. the car was towed home and it hasnt started since. i kinda figured that the engine is now gone. what should i do? i doubt that the dealer will cover such damage right? need advice!!!

Will the engine crank over when you turn the key? Did you try putting back on your stock air filter if you still have it? Maybe drain the oil out and see if you have any water in it and install new plugs since they could now be fouled out.
i think your engine is gone.however try this first remove your spark plugs and with a vacuum suck the water out.crank it over and do the same.hopefully when you went thru the puddle you had that motor at low rpm.pray that it didnt break anything.HYDROLOCKED
Oh man... I would say you hydrolocked your engine. I know someone who used to own a 300ZX TT that had an intake on it. The intakes are located in the nose of the car so basically it's like sticking a straw into the ground from the nose of the car. This guy was driving in the rain and through a puddle he thought was really shallow but ended up being huge. Same thing happened to him. What he ended up doing was having his friend completely take a part the engine and rebuilt it. Like I mean the engine was removed from the car and taken apart piece by piece and dried out every part. Took about a year cause it was done in his garage but it works great now.
Hopefully you didn't try starting up the engine again too much. I think when you do that after you car has taken in water in the intake, it floods more parts of your engine because starting your car requires air to go through the intake.
Sorry to hear that... I hope everything works out for ya.

Does the engine even crank? Do you have any electrical power? Its possible you just shorted out a electrical component or maybe even blew a fuse. If your engine stopped suddenly I dought its ruined, but you need to first get electrical power back on your car then do like a few others mentioned and change out your spark plugs and dry everything off. I don't think you can get any water in the oil, unless you completly sumerged the engine in water for a long period of time. Our engines are sealed pretty good, but just pull out the oil dip stick and see if the oil looks kinda light brown and foamy on the stick, if it does change the oil ASAP.
I live in Florida and I've "revived" a lot of cars that have taken the "plunge", water won't hurt anything (unless its salt water) as long as the car doesn't sit to long without any attention.
