REPORT PROBLEMS TO NHTSA

Please report all problems (such as the rattles, starting problems, etc...) to the NHTSA: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/ivoq/default.htm

Maybe they will force Honda to do something about them...

I'm going to have a F-350 rear end my car at 70mph. After it blows up, I'm going to report it to NHTSA as a defect with the car...just like they're doing to the Crown Victoria.

Reporting these things is about the only way we have of getting Honda to change their ways. If enough people report things to Honda and NHTSA (not to mention Consumer Reports and those stupid local TV stations that try to help consumers) then maybe we'll at least get some more TSBs to take to the dealers (of course, then you have to pay NHTSA to get a copy of the TSB, unless you live in Minnesota I think). You know, its funny that we call them dealers, because the stuff they sell ought to be illegal.

Pay the NTHSA? Ford's are freely available...Honda's are secretive...I don't know if we can even get our hands on them unless you work for Honda.

Just get Consumer Reports to say that the Honda Civic has a dangerous rollover rate a la the Suzuki Samurai, Isuzu Trooper/Acura SLX and the Mitsubishi Montero...Honda's bound to notice then. So would consumers though, and sales would plummet...hmmm...

Yes, NHTSA will sell you any TSB they have (which may not be all of them) for a fee "$35.45 per hour for requests involving computer searches, locating and copying documents."

As for reporting problems, you can call the Auto Safety Hotline toll free at 1-888-DASH-2-DOT to report safety defects or to obtain information on cars, trucks, child seats, highway or traffic safety.

Also, NHTSA's Consumer Complaints Search Engine will allow searches of consumer complaints to see how many people have submitted complaints, and the problem they reported
