... and also, anyone have a squeaky clutch pedal?

after about 2 months, my clutch pedal has started to squeak/creak when it's being released (after being pressed down completely). it's REALLY ANNOYING as you might imagine, hearing this loud SQUUEEAAAKKK!! every time you shift. i think it started b/c i had been pressing the clutch too hard to the floor for a couple weeks. but still, it seems kind of retarded. has anyone experienced this sort of thing and can it be fixed (with some grease or if it's not the pedal squeaking i might be stuck with it forever)?? thanks for any input.

Mine's done it since 1200 miles, I have 16000 on the car now and i CHANGED my clutch. It's probably something with the pedal/linkage, doesn't hurt anything, it's just annoying. Some lubrication somewhere should fix it but I have been too lazy to check it out

Yep, I had the same problem. I just sprayed some wd-40 on the parts that were making the noise. That was over a month ago and it hasn't come back.

that sounds worth a try, not really sure which part exactly is making the noise. did you just kind of spray the pedal as far down as you could or did you actually take stuff apart? i tried moving my seat further back so i would put less pressure on the clutch, and that seems to have helped. only squeaks occasionally now, but i gotta get some WD40...

get your head down underneath the clutch pedal...yea, it hurts to look under there...you will see a tube that comes off the rear of the pedal that goes into a little cylinder in the firewall...that tube has a piece on the end of it and it slides in and out of that tube....that's what was making my noise...I would have used some grease but didn't feel like hunting it down....

You'll understand what I am talking about when you look under there.

I have it off and on. When it's cold it does it, but if it's warm out, it's fine. I think it's just something in the pedal mounting, so I'm just gonna leave it.

Are you just spraying the wd40 up where the pedal connects under the dash?

Yeah just spray up in that little spot that the pedal comes out of and work the pedal as you do it cause some spots are not as exposed as to when u press the pedal all the way
