Options...
1. Get seatbelt pads
2. Get new belts
3. Get 4 Point harnesses
4. Shut up, drive and deal with it.
Quite honestly, I don't even feel it, so I don't know what the problem is.

If it is locking, its a problem. Take it in. It shouldn't lock into place like that. I think it only locks if you move forward very quickly.
ive only done as much as back out of my driveway without my seatbelt on... I guess its just how I was raised... I feel much more awkward in a car without the seatbelt on than any discomfort which could be generated from the use of the seatbelt.
the belts in the civic tend to lock too much but i've had worse seatbelts so I don't notice

see mine lock any time i slow down. and haha when i accelerate quickly. should i take that in then i figured it does it with all our cars cuz i mean my mom has a 2001 civic too and hers does it to. could it be that i have a DX or shouldn't it matter. i'm bout ready to take the money i have now saving for the HKS turbo sheit and buy some tenzo's or sparco seats and do the 4 point deal.

when I first bought my car, my only complaint was that I had to reach back too far to grab the seatbelts. my previous car had automatic seat belts (yes it did get annoying sometimes..) so I guess I just wasn't used to reaching for it. after a month I got used to it and now I have no complaints
..about the seatbelt anyway..
