AEM's decided not to do CAI for auto coz they "do not provide enough gain" but I think they thought it'd be too much trouble to redo their design to fit it anywhere other than where the auto-tranny goes.
Injen found a way around that, under the battery into the fender space. I think it's a better place than the AEM's location by far!
As for gains, we all *know* that our cars don't react well to bolt-on mods anyway, don't we? So it's all for sound and show.
Re: aem cold air intake for automatic
a quick question even though this is a old post but i have a aem sri and i had installed a strut tower bar and the guys how installed it said there is some rattling because the sri is hitting the bar and its been awhile now and i checked the sri and now there is this gaping hole in the tube from bumping against the bar. whats a guy to do? do i buy a different strut bar or go for a CAI. i found a DC strut bar that goes to a angle so it doesnt go straight across any ideas?

Re: aem cold air intake for automatic
My understanding is that neuspeed and DC strut bars clear intakes, I'm not sure if switching to a CAI would help with clearance on a lower end sturt bar but I doubt it.

This is what i did. A piece of rubber hose cut and slipped between them and then zip tied in place. Does it stop it completely? No. But it is a hell of alot better than it was. It tends to give a little more vibration in the winter but is way less noticeble in the warmer months.

i would do the rubber piece also but the damage has been done to the SRI so i guess im gonna go with the DC strut just to be on the safe side thanks for all the help
