Civic got keyed....

Hey, I just found out that someone had keyed the side of my civic the other day and was wondering what was the best way to fix it.
Thanks!

If it's not too deep, you can try to wax it out with some scratch remover (like Meguiars). If it is deep, then the only way to get rid of it is to repaint it.

thats a good question, you should probably shop around a bit, call a few autobody shops. get some prices. i had to have a tent removed (a ding from another cars door), and it cost close to $700 to have the dent pulled out and the rear quater panel repainted. i think the pricing has to do with the color of your car as well. most places also seem to have trouble matching a honda paint, so they have to blend it which also costs more.

dang $700? if it was a component other than the doors I'd just buy and replace the parts with a full body kit and paint it for a little more... dang but its on the door so maybe buffed? i got on too from a tree branch... It goes from the front fenderwell to my rear door (4dr) waxed it and its ok now so only I notice it..good luck man

$700? Man you got ripped.

I'd definately look for a place on the web called colorworks.

They do on the spot buffing/painting. They have the exact color code for our cars. They did two deep scratches on my front and rear bumpers. Couldn't even tell you where they were after they had done it. All it ran me was $150.

I know how you feel. A few months ago my car got keyed. Every body panel got keyed, except my bumpers, and they were so deep that I had to get my whole car repainted. Cost alot getting it repainted at the dealership. A month later, it happened again, but only on the drivers side door, rear and front fender. Again, it was so deep that now I will have to get the side repainted again. I know it is just some jealous SOBs that see me wash or detail my new car while they are probably driving their moms buick or something! To get my drivers side repainted, both fenders and door, it will cost me $750 from the dealership. The other day I went to MAACO to see how much it would cost and they start telling me that just to match the color and do all the work and then paint the side of my car would cost $1500. That is alot of BS.

does your insurance cover scratches?

our corolla once got keyed by some retard...

we filed a claim with ICBC as a hit and run and it cost $100 deductible to get the side door repainted....

btw, maaco sucks.....a friend has a truck painted by maaco....lots of spots were missed....also, paint peels off...
