Access hood latch from exterior
Access hood latch from exterior
Hey every one,
I'm new to the forum and the honda family. I did try searching first before posting so I apologize if I missed the answer to my question.
I have an '03 2dr civic with an aftermarket alarm system. It's parked on my driveway and making a weird chirp/pop sound.
I think if I boost it I will be able to get it to a shop or alarm installer company. The problem is I cannot gain access to my car because I was only given the key to start it, it fits in the door but doesn't turn. The remote isn't working to unlock the door. Is there a way I can access the hood latch while being locked out of the vehicle completely?
On the west and south side of the car is a fence, so I can only readily access the driver side and rear of the car. I can squeeze infront of vehicle a little. There is also my beloved 17' canoe strapped to the civic right now so I would like to not jeopardize its safety. Is this something I can fix or am I better off calling a locksmith?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Door lock cylinder--tumblers are probably worn out and jamming
Go in through the trunk and fold down back seat
