Civic 7gen Headlights and dash lights went out

Civic 7gen Headlights and dash lights went out Hi,
I was driving in the middle of the night and my headlights went out. also dash lights will not work. all the emergency lights (Check engine, srs lights etc.) turn on fine after ignition is on. speedometer, engine temp, fuel level works fine. Car runs fine (Drove back home 300km). Where should i begin searching for problem? Checked fuses and relays seemed fine. will check them more closely tomorrow. Any ideas what could be the problem?
